SUPER 8 SERIES
We are pleased to launch our Saintfield Strider’s Super 8 Series for 2026.
The series is designed to run throughout the year to encourage all current members to participate in as many events as they want and have a good time together. It has grown each year along with the support, encouragement and fabulous stats.
All participants who complete 6 or more races will receive a Super 8’s Series buff, and there will be a chance to win a voucher after each event.
There really is something for everyone and all abilities.
Progress for everyone will be published after each event on our Saintfield Striders Members Only Group Facebook page.

Event 3 - Florida Manor
Results for all our current members and friends who participated in our third Super 8’s Series event at Florida Manor
We had another super turnout of 68 Striders and 35 guest runners all participating in the various events throughout the day around the challenging terrain offered by the 5K loop.
Well done to all the winners and to everyone for completing their personal challenges.
Many thanks to everyone who volunteered, timekeepers, photographers, marshals and course builders all helping to make the day so enjoyable.
Special mention of course and many thanks to Lorraine & Brian Sloan for all their hard work in making the day happen, and to Ali Young and Leanne Smyth for all their administration, PR, the trophies etc.
The draw for a £15 White Horse voucher for this event will be made on Tuesday 23rd June after training for all current members who participated at this event.
The fourth event will be at Lurgan Parkrun on Saturday 18th July at 9:30am.

Florida Manor
Event 2 - Run The Runways
Results for all our current members who participated in our second Super 8’s Series event, Run the Runways at Newtownards Airfield.
We had another great turnout of 39 Striders, 27 taking on the 10K and 12 tackling the 5K around all parts of the runways, one lap for the 5K and two laps for the 10K runners. Well done everyone, some pushing to new heights. A big shout out to all our supporters and photographers Brian Swain and Julie Moore.
Many thanks to Scrabo Striders for hosting the event and providing the super spread of refreshments for afters.
The draw for a £15 VivoXtra voucher for this event will be made on Tuesday 19th May after training for all current members who participated at this event.
The third event is our own Florida Manor Club Event on Sunday 14th June which is free to enter for members, family and friends with options of 3hr & 6hr challenges, 5K & 10K races, Half Marathon, walk and 1K relay race. See the events page on FB and the website for more details, it’s sure to be another great day.

Run The Runways
Event 1 - Montalto Estate parkrun
Results for all our current members who participated in our first Super 8’s Series event at Montalto Estate Parkrun.
For our opening event the sun shone brightly and we had an amazing turnout of 62 members who all ran or walked to complete their parkrun, well done everyone. It was great to see lots of our newest members participating and also those 14 who achieved PB at this Parkrun.
We celebrated Richard Ross’ big birthday with his wonderful cake.
Many thanks to Joan, Damien and the rest of the volunteers at Montalto for accommodating us, it is such a great venue and we are so lucky to have it so close by.

The second event in the Super 8 Series is the Run the Runways 5K & 10K hosted by the Scrabo Striders on Friday 8th May at 6:30pm.
